apana: form of vata dosha, found especially in the colon and pelvis
anna vaha srotas: channel concerned with the digestion of solids.
angula: unit of measurement specific to each individual; equal to the width of the first interphalangeal joint of the middle finger of the right hand.
ambu vaha srotas: channel concerned with water metabolism.
ama: toxin, resulting from weak digestion.
ahara rasa: nutrient material, acted upon in the digestive tract by rasa dhatu agni.
agni: essential form of fire and heat and hence related to pitta; the basis of good digestion. Referred to a the “digestive fire”, it also refers to certain glandular secretions.
