Ayurvedic Correspondence Course, Ayurvedic Distance Learning and In-Person Classroom-based Ayurvedic Education: Om Namo Medicine Master Buddha! Sangye Menla! - the Patron Buddha of our Indian Medicine - Tibetan Herbal Medicine Herbal Correspondence Course and Ayur-Veda School. In the Tibetan Medicine Tantras (Four Tantras or rGyud bzhi), Shakyamuni Buddha describes Medicine Master Buddha as an Supremely Enlightened Being who has special powers of healing. The special healing blessings of Medicine Buddha may be obtained by reciting his name or mantra. In Tibetan chant "Om Namo Baghawate Bhaghandze Guru Bhadurya Prabah Raja Tathagataya Arhate Samkya Sam Buddhaya Tayatha Om Bheghandze Bheghandze Maha Bheghandze Raja Samudgate Soha". In Sanskrit chanting "Aum Namo Bhagavaté Bhaisajya Guru Vaidurya Prabaha Rajaya Tathagataya Arhaté Samyaksambodhi Tadyata Aum Bhaisajé Bhaisajé Bhaisajya Samudgaté Svaha". For centuries, Buddhists have been reciting this mantra prayer, to bring an ultimate healing of spiritual disease, as well as cures for everyday problems of the body and mind. Goals of our Four Levels of Diploma Programs for Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification

(Click here to listen to the audio of this page)

 The 750 hour Clinical Ayurvedic Herbalist (C.A.H.) Program, the 900 hour Clinical Ayurvedic Herbalist Specialist (C.A.H.S.) Program and the 1,800 hour Master Ayurvedic Herbalist (M.A.H.) Program at the Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute are designed to prepare students to serve as bridges between the worlds of Western allopathic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Naturaopathy, Homeopathy, and the Indo-Tibetan Ayurvedic holistic healing world. Basic knowledge of each sphere and their language are essential components of the effective and responsible translation. The programs also attract health professionals seeking to understand their clients’ use of herbal products and augment their current practice with traditional Indo-Tibetan Ayurvedic botanical remedies, Ayurvedic bodywork therapies (Pancha Karma), and other classical therapies of Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine (TAM).

<top>

The most advanced of our four programs is the graduate level curriculum of individualized requirements leading to a Master Ayurvedic Herbalist (M.A.H.) diploma in Ayurvedic Healing. We wish to establish a high standard of education, which ensures that the public will be served with competence and knowledge.

<top>

The curriculum is under constant review to improve educational techniques and to increase standards of excellence demanded of those completing our programs. Students who have completed our programs will possess sound knowledge of the theory and philosophy of Ayurvedic healing; be able to consult safely and communicate their competence effectively; and have a positive, realistic attitude about the potential of Ayurvedic botanicals and therapeutic methods.

Since the Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute has been inspired by the pioneering Ayurvedic Aromatherapy work of Brian and Light Miller of the Florida Vedic College (www.AyurvedicHealers.com), we concur with their vision and goals of Ayurvedic education in the United States (hence we quote them):

“It is the dream of the educators of this Institution to bring balance to each individual by integrating the wisdom of the East and the West.  As each of us commits to break unhealthy patterns of our own family systems, as well as any other patterns that do not work, we allow for change - individually, socially, and globally.  It is of the utmost importance that we remember our purpose, to know what we came here for, and to tap into our inner source and strength while holding a vision of peace.  As this unified vision begins to permeate each family's life, a domino effect takes place for creating a better world for everyone.

Furthermore, our courses are designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skill to:

<top>

1.     Understand the Ayurvedic system of natural healing.

2.     Learn to apply natural healing techniques in daily life.

3.     Develop a general understanding of foods and nutrients.

4.     Learn how different foods and nutrients affect individual body types / personalities and psyches through the Ayurveda dosha / subdosha system of knowledge.

<top>

5.     Perform an Ayurvedic consultation.

6.     Evaluate personal histories through the use of the Dosha Questionnaire, Subdosha Symptom Survey and interview  techniques.

7.     Become balanced and healthy through the use and application of Ayurvedic principles.

8.     Assist others in becoming balanced and healthy through Ayurvedic concepts.

9.     Identify Ayurvedic causes of discomfort, imbalance, disease, and specific illnesses.

10.            Combine herbs, tonics and other natural remedies to assist in healing from disease.

<top>

11.            Develop a lifestyle plan conducive to a healthy mind-body-spirit.

12.            Attain and maintain perfect weight.

13.            Reduce dependence on medications.

14.            Become part of the trend toward planetary healing.

15.            Become an educator of this ancient science and art.

16.            Become a healer who will treat clients as individuals.

 <top>

The teachers of these courses seek to provide the tools to empower practitioners of all healing arts to provide a wider variety of treatments using the science and art of Ayurveda.  Through the intelligent and creative use of Ayurvedic principles, practitioners will be instrumental in establishing Ayurveda as a western therapy.

Our mission is to provide a thorough understanding of Ayurveda, "the oldest healing system in the world", and its applications for individual and community health.  We encourage our students to see the world through Ayurveda's eyes as the dance of doshic energies, and to see individuals wholistically as body-mind-spirit.  We train our students to identify imbalances as being chaos created by actions, karma, genetics, and environmental factors, and to chart a course of lifestyle changes which will create harmony.

<top>

We support the concepts that health is a journey, that remembering who we really are can return us to our purpose here on earth, and that alignment with our spiritual nature is the end of all dis-ease.

Our highest vision sees our students as teachers to all those who come to them in need of insight and as healers of themselves, their families, their communities, and ultimately the world.  If our vision is great, it is because we stand on the shoulders of Ayurveda's giants.  We aspire that our students and their visions be greater yet.

This course is designed for paramedical participants, especially physiotherapists, massage therapists, or health consultants who do not diagnose or prescribe.  They are educated to execute prescribed Ayurvedic treatments correctly and to offer dietetic consultations for specific body-types.”

The Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute also has these same above goals and philosophy for all of its educational and clinical programs.
